All Hamilton adults 18-plus will be eligible for COVID-19 vaccines as of Tuesday
Starting tomorrow at 8 a.m., anyone at least 18 years old will be able to book their COVID-19 vaccine through the province.
That means all Hamilton adults will be eligible regardless of their postal code, public health spokesperson Jacqueline Durlov confirmed in an email.
Those who are currently 17 years old and turning 18 this year will only be eligible for the Pfizer vaccine, which has been approved for individuals 12 years and up. The Ontario booking system will indicate which clinics don't have Pfizer.
Here's how to book when the portal opens at 8 a.m.:
- Online via ontario.ca/bookvaccine;
- By phone using the province's line at 1-833-943-3900 (TTY 1-866-797-0007), available daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. with help in 300 languages;
- If you need help or have an older health card (red and white), call Ontario's vaccine information line at 1-888-999-6488, available daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. with help in 300 languages;
- Those without a green health card or internet can call the city at 905-974-9848, option 7. This number is also for appointments at pop-up clinics.

The announcement came a week ahead of schedule as the province expects to receive an early shipment of vaccine this week. In total, 2.2 million doses are slated to arrive in Ontario this week.
