How to compare different in files between 2 folders in arch based linux
by andrewysk from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5J5CQ)
I need to make a copy of my /home to external media.. But during the process of copying, it pops out some error and i have press skip a few time..
Just to be sure that i didn't miss any files, i would like to compare the files in between the 2 folders to make sure that i don't have any file that i missed out copying to external media hdd.
How to do that ? any idea ? I install "kompare" but this software took forever .. i think it instead of hashing file to compare, it compares all files into the bits diff... otherwise why takes forever ? Is it just me or the software is lacking of feature to compare the availability of files or lacking feature to compare files using sha hash ?
