Obstetrics and gynecology residents in Hamilton hospitals now have cosy new beds to snooze in while they're on-call, thanks to a donation from Canadian mattress company Endy.

The company, known for its mail-order beds in boxes, recently donated mattresses to the on-call rooms at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton and McMaster Children's Hospital.

This donation will do so much to further the wellness of our hard-working residents, who at times spend greater than 24 hours in a row in the hospital caring for the patients of our region," said Dr. Michelle Morais, program director for the obstetrics and gynecology residency program at McMaster University, whose students are the beds' main users. Having a comfortable place to sleep is paramount to wellness and fatigue risk management."

The donations are part of Endy's national Healthcare Heroes Giving Campaign. The company is taking nominations of hospitals that could use new on-call beds and bedding at endy.com/donations.
