‘Free play’ ticket nets $100,000 Lotto 649 win for Hamilton man

Kenneth Male is another step closer to retirement after winning $100,000 on Lotto 649.
The Hamilton father and grandfather said the unexpected windfall will go a long way with his plans to retire this year.
We're also going to share some with our children, and I am going to treat myself to a new TV," he said in an Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) news release.
Male's winning ticket in the March 27 draw came from a free play" ticket.
I used the OLG Lottery App on my wife's phone to check my ticket. I checked it twice before telling her," he added.
Male accepted his prize at home, through a virtual prize claim process.
His winning ticket was purchased at Fortinos on Upper James Street.
