Chief among the differences for fully vaccinated players include the elimination of daily testing, no quarantine following exposure to the virus, no required physical distancing in team facilities, and a lift on travel restrictions.
Those who haven't received both doses must still undergo testing on a daily basis, wear face-coverings regularly, quarantine if necessary, and adhere to distancing protocols.
Unvaccinated players will also be prohibited from gathering outside of the club facility unless they receive NFL and union approval, according to Pelissero. This includes meetings or group training activities.
Individuals who haven't received the vaccine will go through a five-day process to gain entry into their team facility before training camp, according to MMQB's Albert Breer, who adds those who are vaccinated will undergo COVID-19 tests once every two weeks during camp.
Reports surfaced Monday that more than half the players currently on NFL rosters have taken at least one dose.
Vaccination isn't mandatory, but the league is expected to ease restrictions on gatherings and practices for teams with at least 85% fully vaccinated players.
