Reid takes Bell's criticism in stride: 'I enjoyed my time with him'
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid stuck to the high road Thursday when asked about Le'Veon Bell slamming him via social media.
"I enjoyed my time with him," Reid told reporters, according to Herbie Teope of the Kansas City Star. "I'm pulling for him. That's how I roll. I wish him the best."
Bell, who finished the 2020 campaign with the Chiefs, recently wrote on Instagram that he would rather retire than play for Reid again.
The running back signed with Kansas City partway through the season after the New York Jets unceremoniously released him. The three-time Pro Bowler had a surprisingly small role on the Chiefs and received just two carries in three postseason outings.
Bell later expressed regret for publicizing his feelings toward Reid, who's one of the most popular coaches in the NFL, but said he wouldn't take back what he wrote.
The 29-year-old is a free agent. He was one of the NFL's most versatile and productive running backs when he played for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2013-17, but his numbers have fallen drastically since he sat out the 2018 season over a contract dispute.
