Finding and installingg Mint application for watermarking art?

Hi, real newbie here... !
I have looked at what I have on my system so far... but---
I have no idea how to find any new applicationsie: what site to find them on, or... how to install them when I find them? I have Cinnamon MINT version. I am an ex-macbook user, so was using alot of ART editing programs. I would like to find what is available for me as an artist... I heard there are thousands of amazing programs available to Linus users!!
Anyone?
