Highway 403 in Ancaster closed in both directions after fatal crash

Ontario Provincial Police have closed off a stretch of Highway 403 in Hamilton as they investigate a Wednesday morning crash that left one person dead and another in hospital.
Police say a transport truck travelling east on the 403 near Highway 6 crossed through a centre ditch and collided with a westbound vehicle at around 9:30 a.m.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the truck was taken to hospital, said OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt in a video posted to Twitter.
It's unclear what caused the truck driver to lose control. The OPP's collision reconstruction unit is investigating.
Schmidt said both lanes on the 403 near Highway 6 and Garner Road will be closed until at least Wednesday afternoon.
It will take some time to get this highway open," he said. Please expect delays."
