mc and current no spell checker

We used to be able to highlight text and hit control p for spell check, this option no longerworks, in fact I dont see any option in currents mc to do spell check, am I only one seeing this?

I have ispell, hunspell, aspell aspell-en aspall-gd gtkspell installed going by ls *spell* in packages dir
