Problems with installing Hindi on LM 20 XFCE

Does someone have experience with installing Hindi Phonetic - m17n - on Linux Mint 20 XFCE? I seem to have installed ibus, and the ibus-daemon successfully. But I can't seem to get beyond that point. All the instruction I can find online pertains to the Cinnamon variant. I can't find the Region and Language button that seems to be there in Cinnamon - and seems key to the process.
