Philadelphia Eagles receiver DeVonta Smith and quarterback Jalen Hurts are ready to pick up where they left off.

The former Alabama stars were reunited when the Eagles selected Smith with the No. 10 overall pick in this year's draft, and the wideout said the return of his chemistry with Hurts has been instantaneous.

"It's great to have that connection come back," said Smith, according to John Clark of NBCSPhilly. "It just feels like old times. Like back in college."

Smith is set to be Philadelphia's top receiving weapon this season after becoming the first pass-catcher to win the Heisman Trophy in 29 years during his final campaign at Alabama.

The 22-year-old racked up 117 catches for 1,856 yards and 23 touchdowns in 13 games. Smith's yardage total was the sixth-most in college football history, while his touchdown total ranked fifth all-time.

When asked if he was "ready to be the guy" for the Eagles, Smith confidently replied, "That's the plan."

Philadelphia's wide receiver group was one of the worst in the NFL last season. Travis Fulgham led the unit with 539 yards, while Greg Ward had a team-high six touchdown receptions.
