linux first timer

good day everyone. I am trying out linux for the first time. A gentleman I work with is a fan of it and I am sick of windows so I thought I would give it a shot. I know a little about computers but am by no means a wiz when it comes to them. I look forward to using linux and am sure I will learn a lot here
