Hamilton’s South Sea Restaurant on Ottawa Street closes its doors

South Sea Restaurant in Hamilton's east end will be closing its doors after 40 years in business.

The Chinese restaurant announced its permanent closure on Friday through a post on its website and on their social media, noting that the time has come" for the owners to retire.

The restaurant, which is nestled among the shops on Ottawa Street North, thanked its customers, which included multiple generations of families and friends, in the farewell post.

We extend our utmost gratitude to our loyal customers, many of whom have been with us and supported us since the beginning," said the restaurant in the statement. It has been the greatest honour and pleasure to cook for all of you."
