btrfs errors: failed to load free space cache, & short read
by DoctorWizard from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5MCFQ)
The 'Videos' drive on my Linux Mint media server has been doing wonky things for a while now, and now it has become read-only, so I booted into recovery mode and ran gparted.
I'm getting lots of errors "failed to load free space cache for block group xxxxx" and "short read for xxxxx" errors.
I've googled it and am not finding any clear answers, particularly for a near-noob like me.
Can someone interpret those errors for me-- Is this just a logical error that can be repaired? Is it a physical error (bad sectors)? Or a logical error caused by a physical error?
Linux Mint 20.2, Cinnamon, x64 on HP Z600 workstation. Drive in question is a Seagate 4TB only about 3 years old.
