NuTyX 21.07.3 available with cards 2.4.132
The NuTyX team is happy to announce the new version of NuTyX 21.07.3 and cards 2.4.132.
The GIT depot inform us that we did more then 4000 commits since the release of the first 20.12 version.
The xorg-server graphics server version 1.20.12, the Mesa 3D library in 21.1.4, gtk3 3.24.29 and qt 5.15.2.
The python interpreters are en 3.9.6 et 2.7.18.
The XFCE desktop environment is updated to version 4.16.
The MATE desktop environment is a 1.24 version .
The GNOME desktop environment is also updated to version 40.2.
The KDE desktop environment is available in Plasma 5.22.3, Framework 5.84.0 and applications in 21.04.3.
Available browsers are: firefox 90.0.1, chromium 91.0.4472.164, epiphany 40.2, etc
Many desktop applications have been updated as well like thunderbird 78.11.0, Scribus 1.5.6.1, libreoffice 7.1.4.2, gimp 2.10.24, etc.
Core NuTyX ships with Long Term Support (LTS) kernels: 4.9.275, 4.14.239, 4.19.197, 5.4.133 and 5.10.51 and the latest stable version 5.13.3 .
ISOs are available in LXDE, XFCE4, GNOME, MATE, KDE5 and BASE (command line interface only without graphical interface).

What's up ?
The installer:
ISOs works in UEFI and BIOS modes. In UEFI mode, it's now possible to choose between GRUB, EFIbootmgr or nothing as boot manager.
If a swap partition has been formatted for the first time, it will not be formatted again if already done.
If the ISO contain a desktop, the number of configuration menus will be reduced to the minimum that are needed. Basically only language, Keyboard, user and hostname are required then.
The setup-nutyx script:
A new option added that allow to upgrade locales installed by the ISOs medias / install-nutyx script.
The install-nutyx script:
Building an ISO is now very simple with the new ISO variable. Just specify which ISO you want to build by specifying this variable.
The package manager cards:
mybld adust automatically contibutors and packager when this one changes. A new option allows to interact with the contruction of a package.
flcards is now more stable, freezing are history. It can now installed GNOME desktop from it's icons in the "set of packages" tab.
pkgmk reconise two new table variable PKGMK_COLLECTIONS and PKGMK_DEPENDS. They allows installation of dependencies specified in the PKGMK_DEPENDS table. More info in man pkgmk.conf.
The collections:
In order to simplify the configuration of NuTyX, the desktops collection is now integrated into the gui-extra collection. Means NuTyX does use 5 official collections now.
Others:
A new bootsplash at boot time makes the grub menu more readable.
Many new wallpapers are now included by default.
QEMU package got some handy scripts to make use of this software more easy. configvm and startvm are your friends.
Upgrade process:
Even if NuTyX 21.07.3 is a minor release. A
Code:sudo cards upgradewill be enough
Once the upgrade process done, the "desktops" collection in the /etc/cards.conf file will be deleted automatically
