[B]LFS with automation versus standard distros
by Rock Brentwood from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5MRSW)
Hi,
I'm curious to see what others' experiences have been with setting up [B]LFS, particularly with handling updates and dependency-resolution in an efficient manner, and with different windows managers and desktop managers.
Distros, like Ubuntu, Fedora or Arch, already come packaged with support for these, as well as for automating updates and resolving dependencies.
I'm considering the possibility of setting this up on a legacy machine and experimenting with it.
