Help! Error when Installing Mesa. Using Linux on Windows 10. Ubuntu.
by NaKai from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5MX6B)
Hello,
I am installing the latest version of MESA (mesa-r15140), using Ubuntu / Linux on my windows 10, so far I have prepared & extracted in my home directory the mesasdk-x86_64-linux-21.4.1, & mesa-r15140. As administrator. In a final step, in the $MESA_DIR, typing './install' gives me an error:
''Mesa should not be installed using root privileges, sudo is a bad idea to solve the problem. Contact the mesa-users mailing-list if you have permission issues. Or change the ./install file to avoid this check''
So for ex. ''sudo apt-get install'' ...is not helping. & i don't know how to change the ./install file to allow the installation on a root location. So I should probably change some permissions settings to let the mesa install but what/ where exactly? (from Windows to linux maybe?)
Thank You in advance,
NK
