Air ambulance lands on QEW in response to crash

An Ornge air ambulance had to land on the QEW Tuesday afternoon in Lincoln, following a collision on the Niagara-bound lanes.
The crash, which occurred mid-afternoon between the Jordan Road and Victoria Avenue exits, forced the closure of all Fort Erie-bound lanes of the QEW. Traffic was backed up to the Beamsvillle area, as drivers were forced to seek alternate routes.
In a message posted to social media shortly after 3:30 p.m., Ontario Provincial Police said the three lanes were closed between Victoria Avenue and Jordan Road.
Later, via Twitter, OPP said the crash involved two vehicles with a total of seven people involved. One person was airlifted to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.
