Linux societies/organisations in countries of the world helping people installing or using linux

Hello
Is there linux societies in the world ?
What do I mean ?
I communicate with many people who use windows (they always have) and they do not know that other things exist, they only know windows and apple.
In France there are some linux-societies that help people for free to install linux on their PCs and even help with getting on with it. I do not know them all in France (I am actually looking for a list, but for example in the Alps there is ALPINUX).
Do you know if there are such societies/organisations in other countries ?
What is the idea behind my question ?
- prepare a list as exhaustive as possible (to be modified over time) to be given to people (in English) so they can look in their own country and stop using windows. People complain about Bill and his friends and all the lack of safety/security with the use of computers but everyone use the softwares that they have been "dictated" to use and they carry on giving money to these people.
Even if I use linux for 13 years, I am useless and I am not the one to help people (I can not even help myself on that particular subject).
- prepare another list of other softwares (not just about the operating system) to be used for simple things: TOR instead of internet-explorer or chrome, duckduckgo instead of google, protonmail instead of gmail or yahoo etc etc etc
Thanks guys for your help.
A useless linux user who tries to help others .... ha ha ha
