Copy protected disc imaging?

Hi,
I want to make (preferably compressed) disc images of my older games. What can I use, that won't choke on the copy protection?
I've tried K3b on an original Call of Duty disc (Safedisc v3), with no luck. Even turning off error correction etc.
I don't think i need to copy the complete protection, as i'll be using No-CD patches etc. to avoid having to access the discs/ISO's when playing every time.
