Clonezilla - Image a single drive

Hi Guys, anyone tried imaging a RAID 1 drive externally?
What I mean, I got a RAID 1 drive. I will take out the other drive and connect it to a USB image the drive via Clonezilla.
Is it possible? Or any ideas?
What I have tried before is to image the drive while it was inserted to the server.
