Setting up Ethernet network connection
by CurrentWave from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5NAGE)
Hello all,
I just recently went wired for my home network.
And my main desktop and 2nd DT all connected on their own, then a couple of days later I attached my laptop, and again no problems (also no thinking or learning needed on my part) So still naive I pushed forward for the last two laptops - they both showed no connections, as my wifi router was no longer available.
I have spent a couple of days now searching how to set up such a wired connection on these last two hold outs by hand with no luck.
Is there a step by step guide for a newbie?
Do I need to use my wifi router again just to give them a connection while I set up Ethernet?
Thanks in advance :)
