incoming port forwarding to eth0 failed when tun0 is running

dear all,

i've searched through the forum and didn't find any related discussion or answer regarding my question.

when tun0 is up which is using openvpn, the incoming port forwarding to eth0 which connected to another gateway failed. i know this is related to the routing. i try many thing, caused the routing table screwed up and either one of the adapters (eth0, tun0) will failed.

in freebsd, there is a "setfib" command which the routing can be set using seperate "fib" and will allowed incoming port forwarding from the gateway to the LAN while internet connection to VPN still established and did not screwed up.

so in linux, what kind of configuration should i make so that the port forwarding to eth0 working again? do i need to modify the routing table which already been set by the openvpn? or there is some iptables rules should i use so that incoming and outgoing packet can be forwarded to eth0 gateway while still allowing internet connection to tun0?

please advice. thank you
