New to LinuxQuestions, somewhat new to Linux
by manjo from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5NKTQ)
Hi All!
I'm new here and new to Linux in general, been using it only for 8 months now. Specifically I'm on Manjaro XFCE, currently using it to learn to program (JavaScript right now, but also learning a bit about the command line, and soon bash scripting).
I am also happy to see how far gaming has come with Linux as that plus Adobe products was the only thing keeping me boxed in with Windows, but thanks to programs like Gimp, Krita, and Inkscape, along with Steam's recent updates to proton, I can happily play Cyberpunk 2077 without having to go through Wine or even Lutris, I can just boot up steam and go.
I'm continually impressed by Linux and what it is capable of. It truly is a joy!
I joined this forum because I anticipate as my journey down the infinitely deep rabbit hole that is the self-taught route of Computer Science, I will need some guidance, and while there are many forums where resources can be found (I'm also on the Manjaro forums), the classic look to this forum intrigued me and its resources do seem to be vast!
Anywho, hopefully I'll learn a lot here and be able to eventually contribute some help in the future down the line after I've acquired some more knowledge. Thanks for reading!
