how to solve E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

i tried these following command to solve the problem but in wont solve it...i am new in Linux, how i can solve this problem
sudo dpkg --configure -a
sudo apt-get install -f
sudo apt remove package_name
~$ service qmail stop
~$ /etc/init.d/qmail stop
sudo dpkg --configure -a
sudo apt-get install -f
sudo apt remove package_name
~$ service qmail stop
~$ /etc/init.d/qmail stop
