[SVG/HTML] What does it need to create an oval?

Demo (tar.xz, containing 1 html and 1 svg-file):
Since yesterday, I appear to be unable to create an oval which can then be used in am <img/>-tag, as all my attempts result in invisible contours. Everything rectangular is okay, though.
