UPDATE: Highway 6 reopens after serious multi-vehicle crash
A stretch of Highway 6 closed for a crash involving a motorcycle Wednesday night has reopened.
Hamilton police said the highway was closed at Concession 5 East following the crash around 7:20 p.m. Wednesday.
On Thursday morning police said on Twitter the road had reopened.
Hamilton Paramedic Service Supt. Dave Thompson said emergency services were called to a multi-vehicle crash in the area of Highway 6 and Concession 5 East around 7:20 p.m. Aug. 25.
Thompson said paramedics transported a 50-year-old male motorcyclist to a local trauma centre in critical, life-threatening condition."
The man was suffering multisystem trauma," added Thompson. Photos from the scene show a heavily damaged motorcycle lying near the shoulder of the roadway.
