One person has died after a two-vehicle collision at a rural intersection south of Brantford Thursday evening.

Ontario Provincial Police say one of the drivers died at the scene of the crash at around 6:36 p.m., Thursday.

Norfolk County emergency services responded to the call at the intersection of Cockshutt Road at Concession 3 Townsend, south of Brantford.

Police collision reconstruction teams are still investigating and family of the victim is still being notified, said Sgt. Ed Sanchuk of the West Region OPP, in a video from the scene posted to Twitter.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by this tragedy," Sanchuk said.

Roads in the area around Cockshutt Road and Concession 3 were closed for several hours for investigation, OPP said.
