Honours even in the afternoon, which seems about right on balance, though the rules furore regarding the Overhanging Ball of Doom and Madelene Sagstrom's quickfire concession will most likely dominate the column inches. But what a first day. Anna Nordqvist, Georgia Hall, Leona Maguire and Matilda Castren were Europe's pick, while the USA will be thankful to the never-say-die brilliance of Lizette Salas and Jennifer Kupcho.
