VLC can't recognize files (videos or audio).
by Thalassius from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5P6G2)
Hi! :)
I'm at a Debian oldstable x64 based distro.
VLC from repo v.3.0.12.
Although it can play the media files, seems to have problem recognizing their names.
This text is from VLC logfile:
Code:-- logger module started --
.
.
.
filesystem error: cannot open file /home/giorgos/media:/sda6/opt/trinity/share/sounds/KDE_Beep_Beep.wav (No such file or directory)
-- logger module stopped --Copying this (or any other) file to another location and renaming it to something simpler (eg. a.wav), results in a successful play.
Somehow VLC can actually play the files, but it gets confused by the filenames.
Any hints?
TIA! :)
