The Victorian premier, Daniel Andrews, announced a statewide lockdown from Saturday 21 August which extended the rules that applied to Melbourne - except for the evening curfews - across the entire state.
The lockdown, initially scheduled to end on 2 September, has now been extended. Andrews announced on 1 September that some restrictions would ease when the state hits a 70% first dose vaccination rate - expected about 23 September. The curfew applies to Melbourne from 9pm to 5am every day.
