Philthy Philly’s opening location in downtown Hamilton
A new restaurant with a taste for all things Philadelphia is opening in downtown Hamilton later this month.
In an Instagram post last month, Philthy Philly's Cheesesteaks and Poutinerie announced it would be opening a Steeltown location in September.
Speaking to The Spectator Thursday, chain owner Danny Kotsopoulos said the location should open late next week, pending final inspections.
The eatery's menu serves up a variety of Philly cheesesteak sandwiches, some of which are loaded with extras such as peameal bacon, pepperoni, Italian sausage, hash browns and fried eggs.
Their offerings also include poutine, pulled pork sandwiches, burgers, salads and desserts.
Philthy Philly's will be located at 15 Cannon St. E., which once housed the now closed Bul & Gogi BBQ. Signage for the restaurant could be seen in the window in late August amid construction on the business.
The chain has 13 locations across southern Ontario, including in Milton, Newmarket, Kitchener, Waterloo, Guelph and Mississauga.
