Installed/running Linux Mint in a virtual machine using vmware to see how it runs on my system
by IT4Me from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5PDBA)
Hello all! I'm a previous Linux Mint user (although it's been many years) and am now trying to test it out on my laptop(runs Win10 and says my chipset isn't supported in win11 - I'm disabled and living on social security disability, so I really can't afford to just buy a newer laptop.
I downloaded the latest release of L.M. (64-bit,cinnamon desktop) and installed it in a virtualbox virtual machine, but it keeps telling me to install the correct video drivers as hardware acceleration isn't currently enabled. For that matter, maybe Virtualbox wouldn't really give me an accurate idea of how l.m. would run on my hardware anyway?(b/c it's "virtual"). If you agree, how can I create a 'live usb' to test it?
Thanks very much for your help!
btw, my PC (from 'about'): Device nameDadB2W10
ProcessorIntel(R) Core(TM) i7-6820HQ CPU @ 2.70GHz 2.71 GHz
Installed RAM16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable)
