Inspiration 4 Launch TODAY! Not to be Missed...
by enorbet from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5PJS9)
Four civilians are going 500+ miles into space, hopefully today around 8PM EDT, destination well above the International Space Station. The crew includes the youngest person, also a female, who also survived a bone cancer death sentence at age 10 to become a nurse at St. Judes, a 40+ year old family man with some background in aerospace, a black female whose father manned the NASA radar station in Guam (where she was born) for the Apollo missions and who tried to become a NASA astronaut and at age 38 made it to the very top of the list, down to a Yes or No phone call, but was passed over. She's now 50+ years old and had given up on Space. Now, she's going. The crew commander, who also financed much of this mission (thanks to having written software for safe credit card processing at an early age) Jared, has been so committed to flight he graduated from model rockets, glider, biplanes on up to jets and even bought and logged many hours in decomissioned fighter jets.
There is considerable appropriate experience but they run the gamut from wealthy genius go-getter down to a ~20 year old nurse who just cares deeply about people.
The name Inspiration 4 is totally deserved and it should go up today. It should be an important milestone, not only in spaceflight, but in human History. You probably would be unwise to miss it no matter who you are or what you love but this is just a heads up so if you miss it, it's by choice.
There are various locations for the live feed which should begin around 7PM EDT including YouTube, Netflix, and several other social media affilliates. If you have any trouble finding one you can witness, write about it here and I'll keep checking and try to help out.
Bon Voyage Inspiration 4 !!! Bon Voyage Humanity !
