Dell latitude E6520: The OS freezes after some time
by rempas from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5PR42)
I have tried using both live USB amd installing Manjaro in this laptop but they all have the same problem. After some time, the OS suddenly freezes and I can't do anything. The only distro that worked for me is AntiX when booting on "Safe mode". So I suppose that it's an Xorg problem. Another thing is that after installing the lastest stable kernel on Manajro, the laptop doesn't now boot at all.
Another weird thing is that the resolution of the laptop is 1366 x 768 while Windows 10 can use 1080p. However one of the things that the safe mode does on antiX is dropping the resolution so maybe Windows does something tricky that Linux can't?
Any ideas?
