Report: Steelers' Watt could be ready for Week 3 after groin injury
T.J. Watt has seemingly avoided a serious injury.
There's a chance the Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker could play in Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals after suffering a groin injury during a Week 2 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.
Watt exited the contest in the second quarter and was unable to return. The pass-rusher was in the midst of another strong game while notching a strip sack of Raiders quarterback Derek Carr and four tackles.
The Steelers' defense is already dealing with several injuries. Defensive tackle Tyson Alualu fractured his ankle in the first quarter this past Sunday, and cornerback Joe Haden and linebacker Devin Bush missed the matchup with groin injuries.
Watt inked an extension just before the start of the season, reportedly becoming the NFL's highest-paid defensive player with his four-year, $112-million contract.
