The NFL is reinstating suspended wide receiver Josh Gordon, his agent, Zac Hiller, told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The former All-Pro pass-catcher could be eligible to play as soon as Week 4, sources told Schefter.

"We are grateful that the NFL appreciates the work that Josh put in and now he has earned another opportunity to be part of this league," said Hiller. "We are proud of Josh, and I know all the fans can't wait to see him on Sundays."

Gordon applied for reinstatement in July and the NFL Players Association recommended in mid-September that his suspension be lifted.

The 30-year-old last appeared in an NFL game for the Seattle Seahawks in 2019.

Gordon was banned for violating the terms of his conditional reinstatement after re-signing with the Seahawks prior to the 2020 campaign. It was his sixth suspension since the 2013 season and his fifth for some form of substance abuse.

The wideout also previously played for the Cleveland Browns, where he led the league with 1,646 receiving yards in 2013, and the New England Patriots.

Gordon played in the Fan Controlled Football league's inaugural 2021 season.
