Traffic alert: QEW off-ramp to Highway 403 in Oakville has been relocated. Here's what drivers need to know
Oakville drivers looking to access Highway 403 will notice changes once again.
Ontario's Ministry of Transportation revealed that as of 10 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 25), the off-ramp from the Toronto-bound QEW to Highway 403 eastbound near the Ford plant will be relocated and opened 1.5 kilometres west of its current location.
Access to Ford Drive will now be available from Highway 403 eastbound.
This is all part of the highway construction in the area.
A Ministry of Transportation spokesperson said in an email several months ago the current traffic configuration at the QEW and Ford Drive is temporary and is part of an ongoing construction project that is slated to be completed this fall.
"The project involves the rehabilitation and replacement of a number of bridges along the QEW/403 interchange from Winston Churchill Boulevard to Royal Windsor Drive. Construction began in June 2018 and completion is scheduled for Fall 2021," the spokesperson said.
