Mint login password field @ monitor lower, left- but lock screen & restart "fields" are both centered

I take it that the boot time login (enter PW) field should use the same settings as the restart & lock screen fields (for entering PW) should all be in the same position, since they're all using /etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf.d.

But the login field after boot, is at lower left of monitor - not sure why. I've never messed w/ it.
NOTE: my syst. has no FILE named "/etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf.d." It is a folder, that contains file: 99_linuxmint.conf.

This is "99_linuxmint.conf" contents:
Code:[greeter]
background=/usr/share/backgrounds/linuxmint/default_background.jpg
theme-name=Mint-X
icon-theme-name=Mint-X
font-name=Ubuntu 11
xft-antialias=true
xft-dpi=96
xft-hintstyle=hintslight
xft-rgba=rgb
indicators=~host;~spacer;~clock;~spacer;~session;~a11y;~language;~power
keyboard=onboard
reader=orca
position = 50%,center 50%,center
default-user-image = #avatar-default
screensaver-timeout = 60
a11y-states=contrast;font;keyboard;reader
user-background = false
clock-format = %a %d %b, %H:%MI don't remember where the initial login field was under Mint 18.1, but best I recall is it's been same place since a clean install of LM 20.1 - Cinnamon.

Where ever the entries for lock screen & restart / shutdown get their position instructions, it appears different than initial login.

In /usr/share there is a folder, lightdm.conf.d (but no files w/ partial names "Gtk-greeter".

I read about a lightdm test / debug tool https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Lig...abling_LightDM

The tool was already installed & when I ran it, it shows a "mini" image of the desktop & the initial login box - in position related to any Mint logos, etc. On that screen, the login box seems in the right place.

But LightDM test tool, loaded 6 - 10 conf files, EXCEPT /etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf.d/99_linuxmint.conf.
It doesn't appear to be using the file from only folder mentioning "gtk-greeter.conf.d".

I'll have to reboot & see if it shows the "real" PW entry field near center of the screen.latest?d=yIl2AUoC8zA latest?i=9Dy3zcVi0Wc:JRCAsrJTtCU:F7zBnMy latest?i=9Dy3zcVi0Wc:JRCAsrJTtCU:V_sGLiP latest?d=qj6IDK7rITs latest?i=9Dy3zcVi0Wc:JRCAsrJTtCU:gIN9vFw9Dy3zcVi0Wc
