Can you image without USB/DVD?
by Big Senpai from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5Q2FE)
I have feeling I already know the answer to this question but I just want to make sure I have covered all avenues before I give up.
I installed Ubuntu onto a different partition on my hard drive to make a mutliboot so I can mess around with Ubuntu and see if I like using it. The version I installed from a DVD or possibly CD was really old, version 16.04. I wanted to use the Internet to download the latest Ubuntu LTS version, but I couldn't connect to the Internet.
After some thought, I realized the reason it probably didn't work was because it didn't have the drivers for my much more recently released router. I tried to look for the driver installation DVD, but after looking I'm sure I threw it out (I'm currently in a A+ class learning that was a stupid thing to do).
Is there a way to take the image of the most recent Ubuntu LTS I have on my Windows partition and install it on my current Ubuntu installation without using a USB drive or installation media? Assuming I can't, does anyone know of a way I can get a copy of my Netgear router driver from my Window partition to the Ubuntu partition and install it? I don't really have another USB thumbdrive to put another Ubuntu installation on.
Sorry for the long & probably confusing post, but I would appreciate any kind of help I can get. Thanks.
