Police investigate possible discovery of bones on Colbourne Street construction site
Hamilton police are investigating the potential discovery of bones on a construction site in central Hamilton.
Const. Krista-Lee Ernst told The Spectator police were made aware of the allegations around 7:30 a.m. Friday.
The probe is focused outside 46 Colbourne St., which sits in a residential neighbourhood between MacNab and Park streets, one block south of Barton Street West.
Police have yet to find any bones, Ernst said.
A $263,000 capital construction project is ongoing in the area.
City staff have been working since early May to resurface the road and replace water and sewer lines on Colbourne, between Bay and MacNab streets. Construction is expected to conclude in December.
Police are asking the public to avoid the area as their investigation continues.
