HP-UX/C Shell
by timl from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5Q8AB)
Hi, I have just returned to a job I last did in 2001. We use HP-UX and the C-shell. Since I last worked in this environment I have got used to linux/bash so the CLI is now quite limiting. Just wondering then whether there are any shortcuts I can utilise? I can use the esc" key to autocomplete a filename. There is a history command but quite clunky - I need to type history" then recall a particular command which executes immediately. A wish list would look like:
I haven't found much on the web but if anyone has any tips/tricks they can pass on please do.
Cheers
- Show previous command (up arrow equivalent)
- recall a string (CTRL-r equivalent)
- edit a line when you spot a mistake (left arrow equivalent)
