Kernel => 5.14 fails to boot (bad frame in sigreturn)

I just updated an old 32-bit system ("Mendocino" Celeron, 384 Mb RAM) to the most recent Slackware-current, but it consistently panics upon boot.
Downgrading using a cumulative Slackware mirror, I've narrowed it down to kernel 5.14:Code:[ 22.434821] Run /sbin/init as init process

Before I dive into the commit logs and start bisecting, I thought I'd ask if anyone else is running a 5.14.x kernel on similar hardware (32-bit Pentium III-class CPU and less than 512 Mb RAM).
