Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger suffered a hip injury Sunday that could affect his ability to start this week's game against the Denver Broncos, head coach Mike Tomlin said, according to ESPN's Brooke Pryor.

Tomlin added that Roethlisberger's participation in practice this week will be a guideline as to whether he'll be able to suit up versus the Broncos.

This is the second ailment for Roethlisberger this year following a pectoral injury he suffered against the Las Vegas Raiders. He didn't miss any time as a result of that, though.

Roethlisberger has struggled thus far for the 1-3 Steelers. He's thrown for 1,033 yards and just four touchdowns to go along with four interceptions.

However, Tomlin still believes the veteran is the best starting quarterback option for the Steelers.

"What he does and what he's done makes me really comfortable in saying that," he said, according to Aditi Kinkhabwala of NFL Network.
