Josh Gordon will make his Kansas City Chiefs debut in Week 5 against the Buffalo Bills after earning a promotion from the practice squad, sources told NFL Network's Taylor Bisciotti.

The wide receiver signed with the Chiefs after Week 3. Head coach Andy Reid said it would "take a while" to get him in the lineup.

Gordon, whose issues with substance abuse drastically altered his career path, spent the 2020 season on the suspended list. He played 11 games in 2019, finishing the year with 426 yards and a touchdown while splitting time between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks.

The 30-year-old led the NFL in receiving with the Cleveland Browns in 2013 but hasn't come near the 1,000-yard mark since. He's played only 33 games since that banner year, mostly because of suspensions.

The Chiefs and Bills will square off on Sunday Night Football in a rematch of the 2021 AFC Championship Game.
