Thief walks away from Westdale butcher with garbage can full of ‘produce’; Hamilton police seek suspect

Hamilton police are asking for help from the public following the theft of a garbage can full of inventory" from a Westdale butcher shop.

The robbery took place around noon on June 2, police said in a media release, which included a blurry photo of a masked suspect officers are hoping to identify.

Police say a man broke into Hamilton Kosher Meats at 889 King St. W.

Hamilton Kosher's website says the business sells prime cuts of beef, veal, lamb and poultry, all prepared to order, as well as catering services and prepared meals.

According to police, a man filled a garbage can with produce" from a walk-in freezer before leaving on foot. Between $1,700 and $1,800 worth of goods were stolen.
