Ideas on .PDF viewers with smooth auto scrolling function similar to the one in Evince?

Hi guys!
Yeah, my subject line says it all, I guess.
I'm using Evince to read ebooks and when I'm to lazy to scroll and have a steady reading pace I right-click in the document, pick "Autoscroll" and scroll my mouse wheel just a little bit to make it scroll really really slow (I'm a slow reader, heh), which is nice.
However, sometimes I get stuck in e.g. a translation and need to read a paragraph a couple of times, and then need to pause the autoscrolling, which I can't seem to find a Evince function for. Keys "N" and "P" takes me to next / previous page, respectively. The actual "Pause" button does nothing. So, my only option is to press ESC to abort the autoscrolling, read, and then re-do the process of finding a good scroll pace, which I find to a bit troublesome due to the sensitivity in my tuochpad, and me wanting the scroll go really slow.
So, since I don't think Evince has any pause function builtin, I thought perhaps there are some other PDF software that can do this for me, and leaves me with a pause function? Another option would be some .PDF viewer where you set the auto scroll pace not by the mouse / touchpad, but with actual keys, making at least the sensitivity not be an issue, to get the speed right I mean.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Cheers!
