Is mDNS the solution I'm looking for?

Hey LQ,
We have a LAMP server in our office that hosts a few different web accessible internal tools. They each have their own local host / server names. I need these to be accessible via their host/server names to all connected lan devices.
I currently have a PiHole configured with local DNS to do just this, which worked for a week or so but the android tablets we use decided to use an ipv6 dns server instead and it seems like my ability to control what these tablets do is very limited (I hate them). So if need be, I'm willing to try and give my pihole a static ipv6 address and tell my router to offer that as well, but if there is a simpler solution I'd rather do that.
Hence why I'm here to ask about mDNS.
Could mDNS solve this problem for me? I keep reading conflicting information about what it can and cannot do.
Thanks so much for reading and responding!
