A Burlington man is facing a number of charges under the Highway Traffic Act following a traffic stop that resulted in a contentious verbal exchange with Halton police.
Halton police allege that the driver, a 26-year-old Burlington man, admitted to intentionally cutting a hole in the exhaust pipe before the muffler to make it louder when his car was stopped in south Burlington on Oct. 10.
When asked if the driver cared about "annoying people" in the community, he stated, "It's not about them, it's about me," Halton police said. "I like it this loud," he allegedly added.
The driver has been charged accordingly.
