Tagovailoa set to return for London game against Jaguars
Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is expected to return to the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London, head coach Brian Flores announced Friday, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Tagovailoa later declared himself "100% ready" to play after missing the last three games with fractured ribs, according to Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.
Veteran Jacoby Brissett stepped in for the sophomore quarterback but lost all three starts, dropping Miami to 1-4.
Despite Miami's hopes of making the playoffs dwindling, Flores wants Tagovailoa to use a measured approach to his comeback.
"Take the plays that are there. If there's an opportunity for a big play, try to make it - don't try to force anything," Flores said. "It's not a one-man team ... My message to him is take it one play at a time, go through your progressions one play at a time and try to execute."
Tagovailoa produced 1,814 yards and 11 touchdowns with five interceptions during an underwhelming rookie season. The former No. 5 overall pick threw for 202 yards and one touchdown against one interception while adding another score on the ground in Week 1.
